Payroll & Benefits Specialist

The People Operations Payroll & Benefits Specialist will be responsible for administrating payroll for hourly and salaried employees. The primary focus of this role is ensuring timely and accurate payroll processes, people data management, and key benefits administration in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. This is a cross-functional role providing customer service support to managers and personnel in addition to record-keeping, file maintenance, and reporting. Payroll processing spans a global footprint but with a focus on US and Canada. You’ll also act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on payroll and benefit related topics. The goal is to ensure the People Team’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole.

The Payroll & Benefits Specialist role will have the critical responsibility of performing a variety of technical and administrative duties in support of our finance department. The ideal candidate will have an attention to detail and strive to create the best possible experience for our employees.

Essential Duties:

• Payroll processing - accurately managing a bi-weekly payroll
• Reconcile quarter-end and year-end payroll tax forms
• Serve as point of contact for employee payroll and benefits issues

• Perform payroll preparation, calculation, and distribution, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer queries promptly, maintaining a high level of service and confidentiality.
• Act as the primary liaison between Human Resources and Finance, verifying financial data and coordinating updates to employee records.
• Review discrepancy reports for benefits enrollments, terminations, and changes in employee records and make updates accordingly.
• Create detailed reports from HRIS for company initiatives.
• Ensure the integrity of HRIS data through regular audits, reconciliations, and updates.
• Maintain financial compliance in all transactions related to HR and payroll, adhering to internal controls and external legal requirements.
• Keep precise records and documentation for audit purposes and compliance checks.
