The City of Altoona is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Clerical Associate I to provide clerical support to the City’s Police Department.  The successful candidate will perform routine and complex administrative tasks including data entry, filing, answering phone calls, and managing multiple tasks and deadlines. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and discretion in the handling of confidential information.

Requirements

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalency and at least two years of successful experience providing administrative support in a dynamic office environment; as well as proficiency in the use of office equipment, Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications.

• Generates and proofreads order entries for accuracy and corrects discrepancies when necessary
• Communicates and disseminates supplier/cost information to the appropriate department
• Performs clerical duties including photocopying, filing, typing, faxing, and scanning
• Provides backup assistance to coworkers as needed.

Hours and Days:

• Monday to Friday
• 5 Hours a Day (6am to 10am)
