The Technology Support Generalist will work on assignment for the Chester County Intermediate Unit's Philadelphia Virtual Academy (PVA) program . This position is responsible for working with PVA and school district technology leaders, staff and PVA students to deliver customer support services including installation, troubleshooting, user assistance, and training.

SUMMARY:

  • Compensation: $35.00 per hour plus 12 paid major holidays
  • Location: 440 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19130
  • Schedule: 8:00am -4:00pm, 30 min unpaid lunch break

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold the high standards of customer service set forth by IT department & PVA.
  • Carry out all technical tasks following PVA IT’s established procedures and methods.
  • Diagnose and assist with a wide variety of device platforms and operating systems, including macOS, Windows, and Chrome OS.
  • Respond to user inquiries with clarity; maintain a detailed record of reported issues in our problem-tracking database and follow up as needed.
  • Provide technology support for computers, printers, and various other tech equipment.
  • Address questions and requests from colleagues and supervisors across different departments.
  • Keep comprehensive documentation of all work conducted and the related processes.
  • Identify and escalate any discrepancies or unresolved issues for further resolution.
  • Offer technological support to PVA students.
  • Play a crucial role in the management, deployment, and retrieval of technology assets.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed is essential.

  • Assist students by troubleshooting their devices and collaborating with them to resolve any technical challenges.
  • Engage effectively with students, families, and colleagues through a variety of communication methods.
  • Leverage your tech skills and knowledge to tackle new challenges as they arise.
  • Assess computer hardware functionality, perform maintenance, install and configure software, and meticulously document your work in databases or other platforms.
  • Thrive in a collaborative team atmosphere, appreciating the strengths and benefits that teamwork brings.
  • Configure applications, system software, and hardware, while diagnosing and resolving a variety of equipment issues.
  • Execute routine tasks under direct supervision by following established procedures and detailed instructions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or higher
  • 1+ years of supervised IT / help desk related experience

CREDENTIALS:
(Clearances current within 12 months)

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI -- Use code 1KG6XN
  • TB screening (within 3 months)
  • Education Documentation - diploma OR official transcripts from graduate program
