Staff Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Finance team to support operations and financial startups.  You have progressive experience in startup settings and the ability to navigate a variety of business models.  You enjoy working in a fast-paced startup environment, possess a data-centric mindset, and are a proactive, adaptable learner with a track record of working cross-functionally and adapting to change.

Our ideal candidate has experience in multi-unit operations, retail or hospitality, is deeply curious about business operations, and possesses expert-level financial modeling skills. 

Excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, strong analytical and project management skills are essential in this role.

Your Day-to-Day: 

• Support financial process redesign and process improvement.
• Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
• Manage accounts payable, reimbursements, and corporate cards, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Manage revenue recognition according to ASC 606, with comfort understanding key contract terms, and implications for reseller and referral relationships.
• Manage sales tax remittances across all locations
• Support lease accounting according to ASC 842, including ROU, leasehold improvements, TI, and landlord allowances.
• Coordinate and support external auditors and bookkeepers keeping necessary documentation organized and responding to inquiries.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial information.
• Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and support their financial needs.
• Create effective control checks to ensure proper functioning

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
• Technology implementation experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with NetSuite, including API integrations, and Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Effective customer services skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000 USD dependent on location and experience.
