Position Summary

We are growing our team and seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Salesforce Administrator to join our team. This position reports on an interim basis to the Sr. Director of Audience. 

In this newly-created position, the Senior Salesforce Administrator should possess deep expertise in both Salesforce CRM (SFDC) and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our platform to drive efficiency, productivity, and growth across marketing, partnerships, fundraising, coalition, and product functions. We are a fast-paced organization with evolving and varied needs, so you should be able to prioritize and execute effectively and swiftly. 

The Senior Salesforce Administrator plays a pivotal role in building and scaling our infrastructure. Change management and governance should be your bread and butter. You should be able to translate between layman’s terms/needs and technical configuration with anyone in the organization, regardless of technical expertise, use case, or role. The ideal candidate is creative and collaborative– able to consider and explain multiple design options and their implications for any given problem.

What You’ll Do

Enablement: 

  • Monitor and improve user adoption
  • New user and ongoing user training 
  • All aspects of user and license management including new user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, OWD, sharing rules
  • Provide training and support to users on Salesforce CRM and SFMC functionality
  • Develop documentation, training materials, and best practices guides for both future SFDC/SFMC admins and users
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance on Salesforce and SFMC-related questions and issues

Stakeholder management:

  • Own the communication of any platform changes to end users and stakeholders
  • Identify and gather requirements, translating into best practice, scalable solutions with a focus on exceptional user experience
  • Identify unused or underutilized platform features
  • Create a platform roadmap and define priorities, liaising with stakeholders

Salesforce Administration: 

  • Salesforce configuration changes, including (but not limited to): Flow, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions, custom settings, mobile administration, dashboards and reports
  • Data management to improve Salesforce data quality, implementing rules and automation as needed, as well as training users in best practices

Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administration: 

  • Configure and maintain SFMC instance, including email studios, journey builder, automation studio, and data extensions
  • Support and help implement complex multi-channel marketing campaigns leveraging SFMC capabilities
  • Integrate SFMC with Salesforce CRM and other third-party systems as needed

System Integration and Maintenance:

  • Proactive system maintenance including Security Reviews, Release Updates, Health Check, and Optimizer
  • Manage integrations between Salesforce CRM, SFMC, and other business systems– and create new integrations as relevant 
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues
  • Stay current with Salesforce and SFMC releases, features, and best practices to ensure our systems are up to date and optimized

Core Technical Characteristics:

  • Salesforce Administrator certification (ADM/ADX 201) required
  • 3+ years of experience as a Salesforce Administrator, with a focus on both Salesforce CRM (SFDC) and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC)
  • Proven experience in configuring and customizing Salesforce CRM to support sales and marketing processes, as well as other less common and emerging use cases
  • Strong understanding of SFMC functionalities including email studios, journey builder, and automation studio
  • Experience with data management best practices and Salesforce integrations

Additional Preferred Characteristics:

  • Additional certifications such as Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Administrator and Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator
  • Excellent references demonstrating a strong track record in collaboration, execution and prioritization in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Demonstrates continued professional development, including but not limited to DEI, data management, change management, and Salesforce
  • Strong network of fellow Salesforce administrators you can consult when you need a sounding board
  • Experience with the Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP)

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000 commensurate based on experience. Comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 160 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year (15 days during Presidential and Congressional elections). We have an office closure between Christmas and New Year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment. Regular, full-time employees and part-time employees are eligible to take up to sixteen weeks of parental leave, in all cases related to birth, adoption, or foster care starting from the first day of employment.
