Walnut Way Conservation Corp. is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee all aspects of payroll operations. This critical position ensures timely and accurate processing of payroll while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing the payroll team, implementing payroll policies, and ensuring that all payroll transactions are processed smoothly. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in payroll administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of employee compensation processes.
As part of our passionate team, you will play an essential role in supporting Walnut Way Conservation Corp.'s mission by ensuring that all employees are compensated accurately and on time, enabling them to focus on their important work in the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process for the organization, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery.
- Supervise payroll staff, providing training and performance feedback to promote skill development.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Review and validate payroll data, including hours worked, leave, deductions, and garnishments.
- Prepare payroll reports and summaries for management, providing insights into compensation trends and analysis.
- Handle payroll queries from employees, resolving issues and providing exceptional service.
- Coordinate with HR and finance on employee records and changes to maintain data integrity.
- Stay updated on payroll tax changes and labor laws to ensure compliance.

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or similar role in payroll administration.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in payroll software and strong data entry skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.
- Ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues efficiently.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with an empathetic approach to employee concerns.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; relevant certification (e.g., CPP) is preferred.
