Position Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Systems Analyst to manage and monitor a portfolio of finance-related systems. You will ensure compliance, governance, and optimal performance for each system, while also providing insights that keep projects on track. This role requires a deep understanding of end-to-end system processes, including operational functions, integration points, and the ability to recommend system enhancements for improved usability. You will play a key role in coordinating development efforts and ensuring each system aligns with the organization's finance goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements.
  • Provide consultation on complex projects and act as the top-level contributor/specialist for most phases of vendor systems analysis, considering business implications.
  • Effectively capture business requirements to write user stories.
  • Produce high-level Business Design Documents (BDD) or requirement documents in business language, per specific frameworks. Review vendor SDD and FSD as required and keep track of all documentation.
  • Verify that delivered code meets the acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate releases, patches, and upgrades for vendor systems while ensuring minimal business impacts.
  • Communicate effectively with developers to explain user stories or requirements and validate the implementation of the requirements.
  • Collaborate with product managers on product roadmap, backlog grooming, prioritization of requirements, and fleshing out the sprint/release plans.
  • Define interface specifications/protocols for integration with external 3rd party products.
  • Communicate effectively with business stakeholders to acquire user feedback and refine requirements.
  • Perform system health checks, trouble ticket/case management, service request reviews/approvals, user administration, release management, change management, etc., on a small scale for multiple systems.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Quality Engineering, or a related field desired.
  • Proficiency in SQL queries and the ability to write and run Python scripts is a plus.
  • Excellent investigative, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Previous training experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to solve complex business problems.
  • Business Analysis and Quality Assurance skills are a must.
  • Project Management and Quality Assurance skills are a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to track multiple projects, wear multiple hats, and perform required actions.
  • Background in Billing, Finance, and/or Project Management skills are a plus.
