Cost Accountant

This role plays a crucial part in our mission as you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing costs associated with our engineering projects and production processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights that drive cost efficiency and informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly cost reports to evaluate project and product costs.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to gather relevant cost data and assess financial implications of design and operational changes.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing accurate cost estimates.
• Implement and maintain cost accounting systems, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to management in a clear and concise manner.
• Conduct audits and maintain documentation to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across departments.
• Due to the nature of the work applicants must be US Citizens with no known issues that would prevent them from obtaining security clearance.
