Foresight Risk and Insurance Services, Inc. (“Foresight”) is looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) in Distribution. This role is responsible for building and nurturing relationships with potential clients, agencies, and partners. This role involves identifying and qualifying leads, conducting personalized outreach, and moving prospects efficiently through the sales funnel. The BDR serves as the first point of contact, establishing the foundation for future business while ensuring all interactions are documented and compliant with company policies. By collaborating with internal teams and contributing to market analysis, the BDR plays a key role in driving the company’s growth and long-term success in the insurance distribution industry.
Responsibilities:
Relationship Building
- Act as the initial point of contact for long-term business relationships
- Initiate and foster relationships with commercial insurance agents for handoff to the Business Relationship Managers
- Engage with prospects through personalized communication to understand their needs and challenges
Lead Generation and Prospecting
- Using provided leads, review list of insurance agents and brokers that work within the company’s target industries for fit
- Use a relationship-driven approach to prospecting, focusing on building rapport and trust from the first interaction
- Qualify leads based on their potential to become valuable long-term partners for the company
Sales Outreach and Communication
- Conduct outbound sales and activities targeting war leads, ensuring that all communication is personalized and relevant to the prospect’s needs
- Utilize various communication methods (calls, video messaging, emails, social media) to connect with leads, highlighting the benefits of the company’s offerings
- Maintain a consistent follow-up schedule to move leads through the sales funnel efficiently
- Clearly articulate the value proposition of the company’s insurance products, addressing any concerns or objections from the prospect
Appointment Setting
- Schedule meetings or calls between qualified leads and the sales team
- Ensure clear and effective communication of the value proposition to prospective clients
- Provide the sales team with detailed information on qualified leads to facilitate successful sales meetings
Agency Documentation
- Accurately document all interactions and communications with agencies and prospects in the CRM system
- Ensure that all relevant details, including meeting notes, follow-up actions, and next steps, are recorded promptly
- Maintain organized records of all agency-related activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations
- Assist in preparing reports on agency engagement, leads status, and conversion rates for review by management
CRM Management
- Accurately input and manage all lead and prospect information in the CRM system
- Track and report on key metrics related to lead generation and conversion rates
- Maintain up-to-date records of interactions and progress with each lead
Market Analysis
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions and competitor activities
- Provide feedback to the marketing and sales teams on market insights and potential areas of opportunity
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to capture market
Requirements
- 0-2 years of inside sales experience
- Proficient in a CRM tool required
- Experience within the Insurance industry preferred
- Experience with appointment setting and lead generation analysis
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

As a fully remote company, the compensation range provided is based on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, and other business and organizational needs and is based on national averages*. At Foresight, and its subsidiaries, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50,000 - $60,000 + bonus + equity.
