Full Job Description
NationSwell is a one-of-a-kind executive membership and advisory firm for mission-driven leaders. Our Institutional Membership (IM) is an invitation-only program for leading companies, philanthropies, and investment firms. It is designed to help leaders advance their work in social impact, sustainability, philanthropy, and purpose-driven culture. The NationSwell Studio works with leaders in the impact space to create transformative social impact strategies, provide in-depth research and insights, engage key audiences, and more.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Lead with a strong senior-level presence, a passion for serving impact leaders, and a new business track record to lead the growth of NationSwell’s Institutional Member community.
The Opportunity:
The Business Development Lead will grow the member base and refine and implement the go-to-market strategy for our Institutional Membership segment serving CSR, Social Impact, Sustainability and Philanthropic leaders at the most influential and ambitious companies. They will grow NationSwell’s memberships by developing and leveraging relationships in the CSR space to hit new business goals. They will help to further build and refine the operations, systems, processes, materials and motions driving our business development activities – coordinating closely with our Practice Leads who are leading and growing our key segments. Fundamental to our BD Lead’s success will be understanding the true needs of the leaders we support and how best to frame NationSwells value proposition – and then mobilizing, equipping and empowering our team to drive outcomes. Our BD Lead will also serve as a key external facing individual contributor, alongside our Practice Leads.
The salary for this position is $175,000-$225,000 base plus uncapped commission.

- Further incorporate metrics, analysis and testing to optimize outcomes, efficiency and the sophistication of the company’s business development operations
- Work closely with Practice Leads / lead sellers to ensure they have the maximum leverage and support, lead generation, and pipeline management to help them hit their goals
Strategy
- Co-design NationSwell’s vision for growth, with CEO and other key Leadership Team members
- Measure and analyze current revenue streams, offerings, and relationships to optimize our business growth and revenue strategy
- Serve as a thought-partner to CEO and member of Leadership Team on company oversight
Leadership
- Lead, inspire and develop NationSwell’s Growth team
- Set BD team achievement goals and ensure highest standard of performance
- Model NationSwell core values: Innovation, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, Inspiration and Inclusion
Requirements

- Experience building and leading business development operations, systems and processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key stakeholders
- Demonstrated understanding of social impact issues and trends, as well as the ability to articulate the organization's mission and impact
- Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving results and achieving targets
- Experience selling services to Fortune 500 institutions
- Strong business acumen, creative mindset and entrepreneurial spirit
