Medical Benefits Specialist

East Petersburg, PA

  • Handle the setup, maintenance, and renewal of group medical insurance policies for our clients
  • Process forms and applications
  • Respond to questions from clients or their employees regarding benefits, open enrollment, claims, plan changes, etc.
  • Act as a point of contact for our clients, offering a high level of customer service
  • Must be competent with Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must be able to effectively organize multiple projects
  • Must have the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Must have knowledge of basic office equipment
  • Answering phones
  • Greeting clients
  • Knowledge of 401(k) industry an asset for cross-training opportunities

We are looking for a Medical Benefits Administrative Assistant to join our group benefits team.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • High School diploma is required; Experience working with medical insurance or a background in benefits administration is a plus
  • Must be able to prioritize your workload
  • Can navigate Microsoft Office products
  • Not afraid to ask for help and will take the initiative to find answers to questions and research information
  • Communicates clearly and effectively while providing excellent customer service

What we offer:

  • $18 - $21 per hour
  • 8:30 - 5:00 schedule

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Requirements

  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machines
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • High School degree; additional qualification as an Administrative assistant or Secretary will be a plus
