Full Job Description

Blackstone Shooting Sports, a leading entertainment facility in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing financial information, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As an Accountant at Blackstone Shooting Sports, you will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and helping to drive the success of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations
  • Perform reconciliations of accounts and resolve any discrepancies
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Provide financial analysis and support to management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and controls
  • Stay up-to-date with accounting best practices and changes in regulations
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete posting process
  • Verify that transactions are recorded correctly and accurately
  • Perform partial checks of the posting process
  • Complete tax forms
  • Paying bills and reviewing accounts payable activity
  • Sending bills and receiving payments
  • Process payroll

Requirements

Requirements:

    • BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
    • CPA or CMA preferred
    • At least 10 years of hands-on accounting experience, at least 5 of which were in an entrepreneurial environment
    • Advanced Quickbooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel user
    • Experience in retail and/or hospitality industries considered a plus
    • Data entry skills and a knack for numbers
    • Strong computer and technology skills
    • Ability to organize and prioritize activities
    • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
