At Convergent Energy and Power, our mission is to make the electrical grid cleaner, more reliable, and less expensive by leveraging state-of-the-art energy storage and distributed generation technologies.
The Staff Accountant will assist in managing day-to-day accounting operations and provide support for month-end and quarter-end close processes. The Staff Accountant will also contribute to process improvements and assist with reconciliations, financial reporting, and year-end audits.
What You’ll Do
Accounting Operations (95%)
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and prepayments.
- Assist in reconciling general ledger accounts, including bank accounts, accounts payable, and receivable.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze and reconcile account balances, investigating discrepancies and ensuring resolution under the guidance of senior accountants.
- Assist in maintaining fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies in all accounting operations.
- Assist with audit preparation, including gathering and organizing supporting documentation.
- Complete or contribute to ad hoc projects as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to address accounting inquiries and provide information.
Process Improvement (5%)
- Support the implementation of process changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience in a general ledger role.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and intermediate Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Requires the ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine accounting discrepancies with sound judgment. Duties and responsibilities are of moderate complexity.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Works under regular oversight while demonstrating increasing independence.
- Demonstrates ownership of assigned tasks and a proactive approach to continuous learning.
- Ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.
- Responsibilities are focused on maintaining accurate records and ensuring effective collaboration with colleagues.
- Duties and responsibilities are typically focused and/or modest in scope and impact.
- 10% of time traveling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or credit hours completed.
- Experience working in a multi-entity or project-based accounting environment.
- Experience assisting in audits or compliance-related activities.

Base Salary Range: $75,000- 90,000; Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience.
