Full Job Description

M.S. Walker New York has an exciting opening for a new Sales Development Representative! The Sales Development Representative, who reports to the Sales Administration Manager, directly manages a vast and diverse account base and provides “concierge” sales and customer support for our customers. Revenue growth and distribution of our wine and spirits portfolio within a specific account base are the primary objectives. The Sales Development Representative requires a solutions oriented individual with a dynamic approach. The ideal candidate will develop best practices in the marketing, promotion, and sales of our wine and spirits portfolio.

The role requires someone adept at finding tailored solutions for accounts, who is also able to swiftly adjust strategies and seize opportunities. Additionally, they must develop strategies to efficiently manage multiple accounts using various digital resources and new media channels. Please note, this is a hybrid position and requires commuting to our New Rochelle office twice a week.

Responsibilities:

Account Management:

  • Develop a digital strategy for efficiently managing numerous accounts in the metro NY area. Implement trackable campaigns and provide detailed reporting and analysis of their success rates.
  • Manage existing account base to further develop business with M.S. Walker wine and spirits portfolio in new, existing, and non-buying accounts.
  • Stimulate growth across all assigned customers through regular dialog and superior service.
  • Research, prospect and contact new on-premise and off-premise customers to grow distribution (research methods include new licenses, press releases, news and social media).
  • Collaborate with sales management to drive account activation.
  • Create a roadmap to best practices for customer outreach.
  • Maintain and update customer contact database.

Content Development:

  • Create and develop online content for e-mail, newsletters and web promotion on product offerings, and weekly offers based on press or promotion.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Brand Managers to create and develop digital content to generate additional revenue within the account base.

Requirements

  • Strong product knowledge of both wine and spirits
  • Formal wine and spirits training preferred (WSET, Wine Enthusiast or locally offered course)
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Sales oriented
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent communication skills (digitally and in person!)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Salary:

The pay structure is a combination of salary and commission based with an earnings range of $50k-$65K.
