Full Job Description

Role Summary: This split shift offers staff experience in food service and direct care. The Food Service Worker, with the support of the Food Service Supervisor, is responsible for planning, preparing, serving food to people supported and staff and processing all transactions. Additionally, they will provide support to aid in the development of pertinent skills needed to maintain a safe and supportive lifestyle. They will serve as a caring and understanding advocate for and with the people they support by assisting them with communicating their needs and accomplishing their goals.

Role Responsibilities:  Assists with the efficient operation of the food service area while maintaining quality standards.

 Follows prescribed methodology for implementation of outcomes and goals.

 Maintains work area and equipment in a neat, clean, orderly, and safe manner in accordance with DOH regulations.

 Handles routine behavioral issues.

 Lifts and or transfers work materials and equipment

 Works collaboratively with food service team and all programs within agency.

 Processes cash and credit card transactions.

 Works closely with support team to learn, train and document support plans provided by clinical departments pertaining to the person supported.

 Teaches and assists in self-care maintenance up to and including, cooking, household skills, travel, social support, and personal hygiene for individuals supported by AHRC Suffolk.

 Provides assistance and oversight while working on goals and accurately complete documentation and billing for personal goals developed by the individual supported via electronic health records (EHR).

 Plans and participates in recreational activities based upon the needs of the program site.

 Exhibits care, consideration and professionalism while encouraging an independent and fulfilling lifestyle for all people supported by AHRC Suffolk.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED

Food Manager Certifications preferred.

Ability to lift 25lbs

Valid NYS Driver’s License
