Full Job Description
As a Level One Business Development Specialist (BDS), your primary goal will be to engage leads, schedule Discovery Meetings, and provide support during the sales process. This role is ideal for a driven individual with 2+ years of sales experience in financial services, eager to make an impact in the wealth management industry by focusing on “speed to lead” (contacting leads as quickly as possible, within one hour of receipt) and supporting the wealth management team in prospect conversion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Qualification & Outreach:
Quickly engage with leads, ensuring they are properly qualified and scheduling Discovery Meetings for Wealth Advisors. Prompt follow-up is crucial to success in this role. - Client Conversion Support:
Act as second chair to the Wealth Advisor in Discovery and Solutions Meetings with Prospects, helping facilitate the client’s journey from prospect to client. Prepare case materials to ensure Solutions Meetings can be held within 48 hours of the Discovery Meeting. - Seminar & Event Support:
Assist in driving attendance for retirement seminars and other client-facing events, and follow up with attendees to engage prospective clients. - Market Research & Prospect Engagement:
Conduct research to tailor outreach efforts to specific prospects, ensuring a high level of personalization and engagement. - CRM & Pipeline Management:
Keep detailed records in the CRM system (Salesforce,) track prospect interactions and lead conversion metrics, and regularly report on deal pipeline progress. - Collaboration with Wealth Advisors:
Work closely with Wealth Advisors to ensure smooth handoffs of prospects and align on client conversion strategies. - Collaboration with GWS Marketing:
Work closely with the GWS Marketing Team to drive new business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of sales experience within wealth management or financial services industry.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-centric mindset.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and digital marketing tools (e.g., HubSpot).
- Highly organized with excellent time-management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Will be required to pass the Series 65 exam within the first 30 days of starting at Gatewood.
