LOCATION: 7105 19 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48314
WORKING HOURS: 7.30am - 4.30pm
A bit about the role
We are thrilled to announce that we are recruiting for a new team member within our operations/ warehouse team. The Operations Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the company's day-to-day operations. This position is responsible for managing incoming inquiries about order status and delivery information, managing US inventory and samples, and working in the warehouse, which includes heavy lifting. We are looking for someone who is a proactive self-starter who thrives in a collaborative team environment and brings a positive, can-do attitude to every task.
Some of your key responsibilities
- Respond to incoming inquiries via phone and email regarding order status, delivery information, freight tracking, and damage claims.
- Lead and coordinate the demo furniture process in collaboration with colleagues, under the guidance of the Head of Operations.
- Prepare and provide quotes for customers in an organized and timely manner, including LTL, FTL freight quotes, and international shipment routing.
- Oversee the management of samples and in-stock US inventory.
- Support general warehouse operations, including goods in/out duties and heavy lifting when preparing orders.
- Provide quotes for install projects, white glove services, and upholstery work.
- Support after-sales processes to ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Assist in maintaining strong vendor relationships.
- Support on-site client visits and manage install projects, both remotely and in-person.
- Contribute to quoting install jobs and maintain positive relationships with install contractors.
- Perform additional ad hoc tasks and be the go-to person within the operations team, always ready to lend a hand.
Requirements
- A strong background in a warehouse environment and administration, ideally within an operational / logistics role. This position is a 50/50 split of warehouse and administration work.
- Ideally, you may have experience with installations, going out to the site to oversee the projects. But this is desirable and not essential.
- Forklift experience and OSHA knowledge are a big plus but not essential.
- Excellent IT skills with competent use of Microsoft Office (mainly Outlook and Excel).
- People-focused, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Willing and able to lift and move heavy items in a warehouse environment.
- Be confident, approachable, and happy to turn your hand to anything required.
- Happy to work to tight deadlines.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- High appreciation for accountability, punctuality, & routine.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You embody our company people values:
- Teamwork - Collaborate effectively with humility, appreciating and integrating individual skills and perspectives to achieve collective goals.
- Committed - Dedicate yourself fully to your role, going above and beyond with self-motivation and loyalty to achieve individual, team, and company goals.
- Ownership - Take full responsibility for your work, performance, and conduct, acting with integrity, staying organised, and learning from feedback and mistakes.
- Positive - Approach tasks with optimism and innovation, viewing challenges as opportunities, and bringing energy and enthusiasm to inspire and motivate others.
- Responsive - React quickly and effectively to needs and feedback, prioritising tasks with urgency, embracing change, and maintaining a proactive approach.
