Full Job Description
The EDGE Urban Church is seeking a Hospitality & Engagement Director to join our team with a passion to help people find belonging. The Hospitality & Engagement Director will play a key role in leading and cultivating a culture where individuals discover they matter, develop strong relationships with others and find support for their faith journey. This individual will collaborate with a team to implement the relational pathway that helps individuals become engaged in the life and mission of the EDGE.
What you will do:
Recruit, train, develop, and coach hospitality volunteers
Plan and coordinate how your team of volunteers greets, seats & treats people well at weekly worship services
Follow up with guests mid-week
Provide leadership and direction of the EDGE systems that help people move through their connections and spiritual growth milestones
Foster an atmosphere of value and appreciation for volunteers
Requirements
We are looking for someone who gravitates towards multi-cultural relationships, is a team builder, and has a strong familiarity with urban communities. Beyond this, we are looking for someone who:
Has a strong understanding of and appreciation for servant leadership
Has a track record of dealing with conflict assertively, constructively and tactfully
Has 2 or more years of experience developing healthy teams
Is skilled in identifying an individual’s unique wiring and positioning them organizationally where they can thrive
Finally, we’re looking for someone who has a personal, vibrant, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and agrees with the theological beliefs of The Wesleyan Church laid out at Our Beliefs & Core Values - The Wesleyan Church
