Full Job Description
The Regional Sales Director will provide leadership and strategic direction for sales activity on a fast-growing market.
The Regional Sales Director will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding our market presence within the assigned region. This role involves developing and executing strategic sales plans, leading & coaching a team of sales professionals, as well as building strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in B2B software sales, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the platform simulation market. Understanding of software sales to Automotive industry is a plus.
Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive regional sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market share objectives.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
- Perform strategic sales territory planning to set appropriate account allocation and business development KPIs amongst the team.
- Set sales goals and objectives for the region, meet and exceed overall company targets.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of sales representatives, providing guidance and support to achieve individual and team sales targets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set development plans, and foster a high-performance sales culture.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders within the region.
- Conduct regular meetings and presentations with clients to understand their needs, showcase our solutions, and provide tailored recommendations.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention through proactive account management and support.
Sales Operations and Reporting:
- Monitor and report on regional sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Accurately forecast for regional opportunities and communicate clearly with management and wider company on actions and activities.
- Utilize CRM tools and sales analytics to track sales activities, pipeline, and forecast accuracy.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and support teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of sales initiatives.
Market Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, alliances, and strategic collaborations.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our solutions and expand our network.
- Stay informed about industry developments and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements
Professional Background
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
· Minimum of 15 years of experience in software sales, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
· Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in a software environment, preferably in platform simulation or related technologies.
