Full Job Description

This Program Supervisor role will work with the Program Director to provide leadership and support to Supportive Housing outreach staff, and enhance their ability to empower participants in achieving optimal independence and community integration. Support staff with a strength based approach that fosters growth and opportunity. Train, support and guide staff in the performance of their duties.  Ensure coordination and delivery of services and support   by observing staff interactions with participants, evaluating various participant documentation, soliciting feedback and assessing data compiled from reports. Maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Mental Health Association policies and regulations.

 

Position’s Essential Functions

1.       Develop and monitor program services, including writing assessments, treatment objectives/plans, crisis plans, implementation strategies, etc.

 

2.  Review and check files, notes, records, reports, logs, medication records and other documentation both electronic and paper, for accuracy, completeness and use of proper procedures.

 

3. Prepare and maintain various reports such as progress reports and HMIS (Homeless Management Information System).  Collect and deliver required reports, records and documentation to appropriate administration department in a timely manner.  Collect and deliver rents and other program related expenses.

 

4.  Supervise 5-10 staff members.  Explain and enforce Association’s policies, procedures and regulations.  Train and develop staff.  Develop schedules and assign work.  With supervisor, plan and evaluate staff performance. Confer with supervisor on non-routine personnel or other related matters affecting staff.

 

5.  Maintain adequate staffing to eliminate or minimize OT while maintaining staffing pattern per contract requirements. 

 

6.  Ensure health maintenance of participants; work with health care providers and Nursing to effectively address health needs and concerns as necessary.  Promptly report and respond to participant-related incidents.

 

7.  Conduct regular documented supervisions with employees which focus on employee needs/questions re program, participant, personnel and fiscal matters. Conduct effective team meetings.

 

8.  Coordinate moves with the MHA Housing Specialist and assist with moving furniture and belongings of participant to new apartment; ensure move-in checklist is complete.

 

9.  Actively participate in program related community-based provider meetings.

 

10.  Attend all mandated trainings within the specified orientation period.

 

11.  Participate in cluster management including after-hours on-call rotation.

 

12.  Perform other similar or related duties as responsibilities necessitate or as assigned by supervisor.

 

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·         Valid driver’s license, sufficient automobile insurance, acceptable driving record, and a safe reliable vehicle during working hours.

·         Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, prioritize tasks, take initiative, follow through, and work cooperatively as a member of a team.

·         Good oral, written, computer, and organizational skills.

·         Demonstrated ability to adapt to the changing needs of the program participants.

·         Strong interpersonal skills, patience, caring, and compassion.

·         Must be at least eighteen years old.

 

 

Qualifications

·         Previous management experience and experience working with people who have experienced homelessness, mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and/or trauma is required.

·         Bachelor’s Degree preferred

·         Bilingual (Spanish/English) and lived experience preferred
