We are currently seeking a friendly and organized Medical Office Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Office Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, providing them with excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth flow of administrative operations within our medical practice.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and assist with inquiries.
- Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and provide necessary forms for completion.
- Coordinate patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Collect co-payments and payments for services rendered.
- Maintain patient records and update personal and insurance information as needed.
- Coordinate referrals/authorization's, and handle medical record requests.
- Assist in managing the appointment schedule and notifying patients of any changes.
- Manage the waiting area, ensuring cleanliness and comfort for patients.
- Assist with various administrative tasks, including filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Prior experience as a Medical Office Receptionist or in a similar role is preferred.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients and staff.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and medical office software.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and billing procedures.
- Detail-oriented and reliable, with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with office equipment.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.
- Knowledgeable of insurance eligibility and referrals/authorizations.
