About the Role

The Corporate Partnerships Manager at DC SCORES is a key role at DC SCORES, focusing on building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners. This person will do it all, from kickstarting partnership programs to managing partnership event packages to hosting partners at a professional soccer match. The ideal candidate for the Corporate Partnerships Manager at DC SCORES is a skilled relationship builder and a great communicator with a strong background in partnership development and project management. The Corporate Partnerships Manager will report to and work closely with the Chief Development Officer, and have a close working relationship with the rest of the Communication & Development (C&D) team. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Partnership Development: Identify and cultivate relationships with potential corporate partners. Develop strategic partnership plans that align with both the organization’s objectives and the corporate partner’s goals.
  • Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate partners. Ensure ongoing engagement through regular communication and updates on the programs, activities, and events. 
  • Program Implementation and Management: Oversee the development and execution of partnership programs, including school sponsorships, event sponsorships, employee volunteer opportunities, and co-branded initiatives. This also includes creating and managing corporate partner portfolios for the Executive Director, Chief Development Officer, and Board Members.
  • Financial Management: Collaborate with the department leadership to set partnership goals and track revenue. Manage budgets for partnership activities and events.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as communications and program teams, to ensure cohesive and integrated partnership strategies.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Monitor, evaluate, and report on partnership outcomes. Use data to inform and improve partnership strategies and practices.
  • Community Engagement: Represent DC SCORES at community events, conferences, and meetings to foster relationships and increase the organization’s visibility.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in nonprofit development or corporate sales.
  • Strategic Thinking and Planning: Ability to develop long-term strategies for corporate partnership development that align with the organization’s goals and mission. Proficiency in planning and executing partnership initiatives effectively.
  • Relationship Building and Networking: Skilled in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with corporate partners, stakeholders, and community leaders. Ability to network effectively to expand the organization’s reach and influence.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate DC SCORES’ vision and partnership opportunities compellingly. Proficiency in negotiating and persuading to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Competence in overseeing the execution of partnership programs and ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of financial management principles relevant to partnership development, including budgeting, revenue tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Knowledge of marketing strategies and tactics to effectively promote partnership programs and events. Ability to leverage various marketing channels for maximum impact.
  • Leadership and Team Collaboration: Leadership skills to guide and motivate teams. Ability to work collaboratively with different stakeholders within the organization to ensure a cohesive approach to partnership management.
  • Problem Solving and Adaptability: Capacity to identify challenges and obstacles in partnership development and to find creative and effective solutions. Flexibility and adaptability in adjusting strategies to meet changing circumstances and partner needs.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Understanding: Knowledge of CSR practices and trends, and how they align with the organization’s mission and values. Ability to integrate CSR into partnership strategies effectively.
  • Passion for the Mission: Genuine enthusiasm for and commitment to the DC SCORES mission and values, particularly regarding youth development, teamwork, and diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging (DEIAB).

Travel

  • This position requires a few planned late weeknight and weekend commitments. All members of the DC SCORES staff, all the way up to the Executive Director, attend major program events (~6/year, typically on evenings or Saturdays) and staff Thursday afternoon game days (3:30-6 pm) during our fall and spring seasons.
  • This position will require travel throughout D.C. During the fall and spring, you must be comfortable with weekly travel to program sites around all 8 Wards of the city via car or public transportation.

Benefits

The salary range for this role is $65,000-$74,000 based solely on years of direct experience.
