Your purpose:
We are looking for a knowledgeable Part-Time Payroll Specialist to process and manage the bi-weekly payroll, and process all payroll journal entries in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. You will be able to use our payroll software with accuracy and efficiency for 20-25 hours per week.
This role will report directly to the People Manager.
To nail your job you will:
- Responsible for upholding company Mission, Vision and Values
- Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salary changes, benefit updates, garnishments, taxes, and other earnings/deductions in partnership with TriNet (PEO) and Naked Wines People Team
- Help oversee timesheet approvals from managers
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and other earnings/deductions
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll entries and transactions
- Complete the applicable journal entries and accruals (e.g. bonus, PTO, etc.) following payroll processing
- Help address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and managers
- Prepare any requested payroll reports for management on an as-needed basis
- Other tasks, duties, or special projects as assigned.

Requirements
- One – two years of experience preferred, but not required.
- Proven experience as a payroll specialist
- Must be able to work Tuesdays and Wednesdays during payroll processing weeks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office and G-Suite
- Ability to keep sensitive employee information confidential
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
- Superior organization and recordkeeping skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Able to work legally in the United States. (Work authorization sponsorship is not provided for this role by Naked Wines)
- Experience in payroll and accounts payable
