Full Job Description
We’re searching for a Staff Accountant who’s keen to join a growing Finance team in a growing company. Reporting to our Senior Accountant, you'll play a key role in managing the books and ensuring the smooth running of the day-to-day accounting cycle. You’ll prepare and maintain financial statements, in addition to a range of other analyses and reports. You’ll collaborate with colleagues and partners in Tampa, Silicon Valley, Canada, Europe and India.
As an ideal candidate, you're a self-starter with strong accounting fundamentals and solid experience in full-cycle accounting and payroll. You’re autonomous, collaborative, methodical, curious, and quick to learn. You're eager to take on challenges large and small, and you thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment. Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day full-cycle accounting, and collaborate with outsourced accounting partners to maintain the GL.
- Prepare monthly financial statements.
- Own payroll processing, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Maintain the monthly revenue recognition worksheet.
- Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts.
- Generate sales invoices and maintain receivable balances.
- Calculate monthly sales commissions with assistance from Sales Operations.
- Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
- Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Manage the purchasing and invoicing system.
- Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related discipline.
- Skills and experience in full-cycle accounting.
- Humility, drive, sharp attention to detail, and great communication skills.
- High degree of organization and process-orientation.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of, and the ability to adhere to GAAP.
- The ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
- A commitment to customer success and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience with NetSuite and Bill.com accounting software packages are strong assets.
