We are seeking a motivated and versatile HR Assistant to join our Human Resources team. The HR Assistant will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day HR operations, including performance management, workers compensation, leaves of absence, benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, ability to connect with people, and positively influence change.
Benefits Administration:
- Provide customer service to employees, applicants, and administrative staff.
- Assist HR with queries related to benefits enrollment, claims, and policies.
- Provide support with annual open enrollment and communicate benefits changes as needed.
- Liaise with benefit providers to ensure accurate and timely service delivery.
Compliance:
- Ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update employee records in accordance with legal requirements.
- Coordinate compliance training and employee development programs.
Performance Management:
- Support performance review processes and provide coaching to managers and employees.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual development plans (IDPs).
- Partner with leadership on employee engagement and retention strategies.
- Help in employee relations as needed.
HR Support:
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Prepare reports and analyze HR metrics to help support business decisions.
- Assist with the administration of company policies and procedures.
- Prepare change of status forms, job descriptions, promotions planning, etc.
Other Duties as Assigned:
- Assist with special projects and other HR initiatives as needed.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred but not required.
- 3-5 years of HR experience in a generalist role preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO).
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Bilingual English and Spanish.
