Position Summary

The Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in driving the growth of 33 USA Inc. by identifying new business opportunities and fostering relationships within the entertainment industry, specifically focusing on anime and manga markets. This individual will lead marketing strategies, manage key client accounts, and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to create winning proposals and campaigns. The role involves strategic planning and team leadership, ensuring all business development activities align with company objectives.

Requirements

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to identify and pursue new market opportunities in the entertainment sector.

- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform business positioning and strategies.

Client Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and objectives to deliver tailored solutions.

- Conduct regular meetings and presentations with clients to discuss project updates, opportunities, and address any concerns.

- Fluency in written and spoken Japanese required for client communication.

Proposal Development:

- Lead the preparation of proposals and pitches for clients, working collaboratively with internal teams to create compelling and effective presentations.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure all proposals align with the company's capabilities and market offerings.

Team Leadership:

- Mentor and supervise Business Development team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

- Set clear goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team and track progress against these targets.

Reporting and Analysis:

- Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities, including revenue forecasts and budget performance, to senior management.

- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of business development initiatives, making adjustments as necessary.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Required:

- 10+ years of experience in business development, marketing, or related fields.

- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a relevant discipline.

- Bilingual proficiency in both Japanese and English language skill.

- Strong communication and presentation skills in both languages.

- Proven experience in client relationship management within the entertainment industry, ideally in the anime/manga sector.

- Exceptional project management and organizational skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Preferred:

- Experience in strategic planning and execution within a U.S.-based organization.

- Understanding of licensing and distribution models in the entertainment industry.

- Skills in digital marketing and analytics.

- Interest or background in anime and manga subculture.

- Experience coordinating international operations or teams.
