Associate Designer

The Associate Designer works closely with the design team to develop and create innovative and trend-forward designs for our various apparel collections.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation of sketches, technical drawings, and tech packs
• Participate in trend research and analysis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including merchandising, production, and graphics
• Attend and contribute to design meetings
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor analysis
• Assist in sample management and coordinate with manufacturers
• Support the design team in various design projects and tasks

• Prepares for fittings, by measuring sample to be fit, cross-examine sample against style Tech Pack and against the previous fit samples to ensure previous comments have been corrected, bringing previous fits to fit session for review if needed.

• Knowledge of pattern making, draping, measuring, garment construction, grading, and factory production
• Develop clear and comprehensive tech packages for factories

 Planning and strategy of project development from the design effort through construction, obtaining Certificate of Occupancy and project closeout

Assist with oversight and coordination of design development from Schematic Design to Construction Administration Phases

Assist in the day-to-day management of development projects including the oversight of project contractors and consultants

Assist in negotiating and drafting contract terms and scope with design consultants and contractors

Assist Design Director to conduct regularly coordination meetings with the contractors and design consultants

Responsible for maintaining project schedule, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget
