Full Job Description
Seeking a Tax Manager to join a mid-sized public accounting firm, responsible for managing staff, client assignments and projects and delivering a high-quality service. This position can either be located in Wheeling, WV or Cambridge, OH.
Supervisory responsibilities:
- Assist with overseeing office operations and staff, client service activities, quality, reporting, production revenue budget and forecasting;
- Work in conjunction with the Senior Manager/ Principal on maximizing performance including production revenue maximization, and staff development, includes coaching, advising, and supporting team members in meeting client and self-development expectations.
- Understand skillsets and capabilities of Associates and monitor and review work products that they prepare and report on performance while articulating coaching notes throughout the process.
Tax Client Service Coordinator
- Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and general business activities.
- Manage client needs with respect to tax services and federal and state tax compliance.
- Promote the Firm to clients, business associates and through community events.
- Prepare tax returns and provide detailed review and analysis of tax returns.
- Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client and the service team while managing the risk for both the client and the firm.
- Reviewing research findings and ensuring conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards.
- Assist with new business development, extended service, and tax issue recognition for existing clients.
- Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required. Preferred MBA or related degree.
- CPA or EA is a must.
- Preferred 7-10 years of related tax experience.
- Expert knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient in computer software programs.
- Retain general knowledge regarding FASB and IRC
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
