Full Job Description

This position provides data entry support to the Benefit Services department by accurately processing enrollment and change forms for existing group members. Acts as a customer service contact to members and employees. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential functions listed below.  Reasonable accommodations will be considered to enable an individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Requirements

Essential Functions

  • Accurate data entry of new and renewing group individual member and dependent enrollment
  • Performs enrollment/eligibility audits
  • Acts as a customer service contact for firms and employees, and responds and researches a high volume and variety of questions/issues to provide accurate and timely information
  • Must be able to learn and understand insurance & benefit contracts and respond to customer service inquiries
  • May manage producer credentialing, demographics, and commissions
  • Works cooperatively with all department members on procedural changes with the Trust database to meet changing member needs
  • Provides support and backup for all Benefit Services department members  
  • Must have a basic understanding of all the functions and services of AI and be able to respond to questions and direct members to appropriate resources
  • Interacts with AI members via telephone, e-mail, and meetings
  • Works as a cooperative team member in the entire organization as well as the department
  • Represents the organization with various carriers/vendors who are our business partners
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong data entry skills and interest in data entry position
  • Strong background in customer service and willingness to learn and understand health and disability contracts
  • Proficiency in, or ability to learn, PC applications including Windows, MS Word, Excel, and MS Outlook and other proprietary software programs
  • Ability to use remote conferencing software such as Microsoft teams, zoom, go to meeting, web ex.
  • Ability to use multi-line phone system, 10-key, postal meter, computer, printers, and other equipment as deemed necessary
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $17.94 to $25.12 per hour.  Benefits offered include:

  • Paid Time Off - .0577 hourly accrual rate (approximately 120 hours annually based upon a full-time work schedule). Increased PTO accrual based upon years of service.
