Shift Manager

Blackbird Bakery is a bustling bakery located in the heart of downtown. We are known for our delicious and innovative baked goods, from savory quiche and breads to decadent pastries. We are currently seeking a Shift Manager to join our team and help ensure the smooth operation of our bakery.

As the Shift Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the bakery during your shift. You will be responsible for managing a team of bakery staff, ensuring that they are performing their duties efficiently and effectively. You will also be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, as well as ensuring that all food safety protocols are followed.

In addition to overseeing staff, you will also assist with customer service and sales. You will have the opportunity to interact with customers, taking orders and providing them with information about our products. You will also be responsible for cashier duties, handling transactions and ensuring accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of bakery staff during your shift
• Ensure staff are following all bakery procedures and standards
• Oversee the baking and preparation of products, ensuring quality and consistency
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Assist with customer service, taking orders and providing product information
• Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
• Train new staff members and provide ongoing guidance and support

Requirements

• Previous experience in a bakery or food service environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
