Location: REMOTE
First Division Consulting is seeking an experienced Proposal Manager to join our growing team. In this vital role, you will lead and manage the proposal development process, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions that meet the requirements of solicitations. The Proposal Manager will collaborate with various stakeholders, including subject matter experts, team members, and external partners, to create compelling proposals that demonstrate our capabilities and understanding of client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the proposal development process from initiation to submission, coordinating efforts across various functional areas of the organization.
- Develop and manage proposal schedules, outlines, compliance matrices, and proposal templates to facilitate a cohesive proposal approach.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop proposal strategies and win themes that align with the company’s vision and client needs.
- Identify, recruit, and manage proposal team members including writers, editors, and graphics designers, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined.
- Review and edit proposal content to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with solicitation requirements.
- Conduct proposal kick-off meetings, progress check-ins, and review sessions to keep the proposal team focused and engaged.
- Utilize project management tools to track proposal progress and monitor deadlines, ensuring submission milestones are met.
- Perform a final review of proposals prior to submission, ensuring high-quality presentation and compliance with all submission instructions.
- Facilitate debriefings and gather feedback after proposal submissions to continually improve proposal processes.
- Maintain a repository of past proposals and lessons learned to support future proposal efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, English, Communications, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience managing proposal development in a government contracting environment, including DOD and civilian agencies.
- Strong understanding of proposal processes, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Demonstrated experience leading proposal teams and managing cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with proposal management software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Active security clearance or the ability to obtain one is preferred.
This position is remote and may require occasional travel for client meetings or conferences.
Desired
- Certifications such as APMP Foundation Level, and/or other proposal management certifications.
- Experience with cost proposal development and knowledge of government regulations (FAR/DFARS).
- Experience in utilizing SharePoint for proposal management and collaboration.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
