Full Job Description
Pay is determined by prior experience.
Position is on 2nd shift (Monday through Thursday 3:00 pm to 1:00 am) there is a $1.00 per hour shift differential.
- Training will take place on 1st shift (Monday through Thursday 5:00 am to 3:00 pm)
- Execute jobs as directed by finishing Lead Hand or by ship date on tickets in WIP.
- Clear the line from previous production run. Mandatory for all tasks related to pharmaceutical and food products.
- Review the job ticket and survey the amount of product to rewind to determine if the job is extensive and will require additional Rewind Operator(s).
- Verify the notes and any customer specification on the ticket so that the order is executed with accuracy.
- Set up the equipment according to the job specification verifying tickets against spec folder.
- Check edges of finished rolls of flexible material to ensure they are smooth and even.
- Take client samples as written on the ticket and place in an envelope marked “customer samples”.
- Take extra labels for quality control and place in the job ticket envelope.
- Conduct visual inspection throughout rewinding and stop and remove labels with imperfections.
- Replace non-conforming labels – if splice is needed, execute.
- Provide support in the plate room and other production areas as required.
- Performs any production-related work assignments that are requested by the Team Leader or production management.
- Choose boxes depending on product to be shipped and put rolls in bags.
- Prepare delivery slip, box label and conformity certificate.
- Register finished product information on the ticket (in the packaging section).
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
- Must be able to establish effective working relationships with supervisors, and peers.
- Must be able to assess situations and make adjustments to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated analytic, written, and oral communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team.
- Organization and time management skills, with an ability to cope with a fluctuating workload.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new and varied job tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
- High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.
