Summary/Objective-
Develop and maintain professional relationships with Residential staff while providing training on the floor. Maintain the schedule of ALL Residential staff and update the schedule in “real time” so that all staff have the updated schedule and know who they will be working with before their shift begins.
Maintain a list of on call staff to call when shifts are needing coverage. The ‘on call’ list will be shared with all departments.
Essential functions
- Coordinate, manage and update the staffing schedule for ALL residential employees.
- Share the schedule with new employees and train them on how to read the schedule.
- Assist the Residential Training Coordinator with staff training for DRS employees.
- Serve as a positive role model and instructor by modeling desirable behavior, patience, tolerance, and reflective listening to achieve expected behaviors and actions
- Be encouraging, supportive, respectful of staff's time and getting the appropriate information to the staff that is filling in on the floor as an on call.
- Supervise, motivate, empower, inspire, and instruct while collaborating with leadership teams in creating a result oriented environment.
- Share student related information with clarity to mentors, other supervisors, Program coordinators and all other staff members.
- Complete all forms, documents, and evaluation surveys on students legibly along with supervising other mentors that are required to do the same reporting.
- Supervisors must attend their weekly scheduled leadership meeting. Progressive discipline using proper protocol and follow through.
- Accurately checking staff time cards along with your own before the end of each pay period.
- Making sure staff that you supervise get memo's that are campus wide notifications.
- Approve PTO for mentors you supervise
- Problem-solve during stressful situations through calmness and leadership.
Supervisors are held responsible for the following:
- Cleanliness and neatness of the buildings/grounds along with being held responsible for any damages that occur during their shift.
- Must ensure approval has been given and follow the budget for planned outings and activities
- Maintain student schedules and structured environment.
- Effectively coordinate logistics of daily activities (staffing, parent seminars, on campus and off campus activities) PTP’s and protocols and group attendance.
- Accurately distributing and recording medications daily along with reporting to the nursing staff and Residential Coordinators when medical issues with students arise.
- Ensure PTO are sent to your Residential Coordinator for their approval.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass a background check and motor vehicle check
- Must have a current Utah driver's license
- Must have basic math and computer skills
- Must have effective time management skills, boundaries, good listener, and adhere to rules and regulations
- Effective communication both written and verbally
- Will need to be CPR/First Aid (within first 30 days of employment) and crisis
- intervention trained
- Must be able to complete responsibilities under various weather conditions such as
- snow, ice, heat and be able to adhere to physical demands of walking, running, lifting, hiking, rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding or any other outside related activities.
- No sensitivity to smells or animals
- Work well in a team setting environment
Work environment-Working inside and outside in a ranch type environment including animals, experiencing varied weather conditions at times such as wind, rain, snow, ice, extreme heat or cold. Grounds consist of rocks, uneven grounds, cement, grass, dirt, and mud. Extremely noisy at times inside and outside of buildings.
Physical demands-While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear and talk. This position is frequently very active and requires walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, running, sitting, lifting, reaching over your head, driving, physical and manual labor.. Employees will need to be able to lift or move objects weighing up to 60 lbs. Be able to use tools or equipment requiring a moderate degree of dexterity, ascend and descend a step stool, use garden tools as well as recreation equipment. The employee must drive various motor vehicles. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision clarity (100 yards), color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel-Approximately 20% of the time you may need to go off site in a company car to purchase supplies for a needed project or to go for an off-site activity with the students.
