This role is located at either our St. George or Lehi, Utah office, offering a hybrid or on-site work arrangement.
Summary
We are seeking a highly organized individual with expertise in US and international payroll processing, regulations, compliance, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. This person must possess meticulous attention to detail, effective communication skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. The Payroll Accountant is responsible for processing payroll for Vasion’s global employees and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure accurate and timely execution. Additionally, they handle various reporting and operational functions related to payroll information, ensuring adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Primary Job Duties
- Serve as an expert in US and international payroll, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
- Support audits, period closings, and reconciliations, maintaining confidentiality of employee information.
- Process payroll for 400+ global employees accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with HR for accurate employee data, including new hires and terminations.
- Handle journal entries, reconciliations, and ad-hoc analysis for payroll.
- Oversee accurate funding of 401k and HSA, and assist with tax filings.
- Analyze and improve payroll processes, establishing internal controls to prevent errors.
- Stay updated on tax laws and regulations, coordinating with external vendors for payroll processing.
- Research international payroll regulations and assist in developing payroll policies.
- Respond to payroll inquiries and partner with the HRIS Specialist on system configurations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 1-3+ years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of multi-state and international payroll.
- Familiarity with accounting procedures and controls, experience with payroll and accounting systems.
- Attention to detail, strong leadership, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines, advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
