Specifically, we’re looking for a talented and passionate Web Developer to join us in building robust, high-quality websites. Our ideal candidate will have significant development experience in WordPress, including creating customized themes and plugins. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP is essential. Experience with page builders like Bricks Builder or Divi Builder is a big plus. This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, a knack for problem-solving, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation. Day to Day

In a typical week, you will:

• Build custom WordPress websites using various web technologies

• Write custom code to enhance functionality and user experience
• Work with SQL databases for data management and retrieval
• Create pages and sections using both page builders and custom code
• Troubleshoot and repair WordPress errors and bugs
• Manage content and maintain websites to ensure they are up-to-date and running smoothly.
• Conducting thorough testing of websites, including cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.
• Collaborating with the development team as well as designers and project managers to determine development approach for key builds.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, we believe you’ll need:

• Education: Bachelors degree (or comparable experience and portfolio)
• Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience with WordPress (PHP), HTML5, CSS and Javascript.
• References: 2-3 strong references who can vouch for your performance
• Required Skills:
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, and AJAX.
• Experience with theme and individual template development, plugin development, and new feature implementation.
• Ability to convert Figma compositions into WordPress templates.
• Ability to set up production servers and migrate websites
• Stay up to date on the latest web technologies
• Strong understanding of Web Accessibility Standards (minimum WCAG 2.1 AA)
• Additional Skills:
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and the agile development process.
• Front-end UI/UX experience and the ability to create mobile-responsive UIs
• Familiarity with version control (e.g. GitHub experience)
• Knowledge of Pantheon hosting is a plus
