Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Commercial Development to lead our efforts in launching a new commercial medical food among HCPs and consumers. This pivotal role will oversee the sales and marketing functions, driving strategic initiatives and maximizing our market impact. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of sales leadership and marketing expertise, with a proven track record of success in both Healthcare Professional (HCP) and Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) marketing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Expertise:
- Develop and implement a robust marketing strategy that integrates HCP and DTC efforts, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach.
- Understand the interplay between science, sales, and marketing, leveraging each element effectively to drive engagement and growth.
- Lead the development and execution of marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and brand messaging.
- Utilize market research and analytics to identify opportunities, track performance, and inform decision-making.
- Drive practitioner education initiatives, ensuring our products and services are well understood and trusted by healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of marketing initiatives and alignment with overall business strategy.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure our marketing efforts remain innovative and effective.
- Manage agency relationships for successful execution of practitioner market growth.
Sales Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with our organizational goals and objectives.
- Leverage existing relationships to engage in high-level discussions with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Identify and cultivate Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to amplify our voice and influence in the market.
- Set clear sales targets and KPIs, and regularly monitor and report on performance against these metrics.
- Initially, serve as the sole individual salesperson, driving sales efforts independently until the organization reaches a growth stage that supports the build-out of a sales team.
- Build, train, and lead a high-performing sales team at the appropriate stage of growth, strategically positioning them to maximize ROI.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the sales team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent business experience
- 10+ years of experience in sales and marketing, with a strong focus on HCP and DTC environments.
- Proven track record of successfully leading sales teams and driving revenue growth.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing effective marketing strategies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
