Full Job Description
We are looking for a talented, self motivated US Tax Manager to join our growing global finance team at SPT Labtech. Reporting to the Global Tax Manager based in the UK, partnering closely with other finance team members. You will manage day-to-day compliance work, drive the company’s US tax-related workstreams, and provide guidance regarding US tax implications and risks/opportunities of various key business decisions.
You can be based remotely anywhere in the US working part time 4 days per week.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working with our global advisory team, prepare and file Annual Tax Compliance documentation and returns to all relevant tax authorities including federal, state and local tax
- US tax technology lead including relationship with Avalara
- Manage sales and use tax, property tax and miscellaneous reporting requirements
- Maintain tax calendar for various filings, compliance matters, and other tax-related workstreams
- Develop and implement opportunities for process standardization and improvement in US tax procedures
- Stay up-to-date with US tax laws and regulations that impact the business and make recommendations accordingly
- Lead communications with tax authorities and external advisors
- Feed into multi-year tax forecast model based on company operating plan
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to evaluate the US income tax implications of certain business and/or partner decisions
- Work closely with internal stakeholders on various related projects such as US treasury considerations and commercial optimisation of US tax opportunities
- Assist with other ad hoc projects and analysis as assigned
Your skillset
- Highly organized with the ability to maintain a large volume of information.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and project management skills.
- A strong communicator with strong analytical skills.
The essentials:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Big 4 or nationally recognized firm experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of sales and use tax required with high level understanding of federal tax regulations.
- 6+ years of previous relevant tax compliance experience.
- SALT exeprience desirable but not essential.
