About Upstream Product Manager:

Clinical and technical profile eager to be one of Distalmotion’s Dexter expert. Critical interface between the USA users and the R&D team, ensuring that customer’s unmet needs are integrated in the product vision and strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prioritize unmet customer needs related to RAS, instruments and accessories through qualitative and quantitative research while collecting their feedback and measuring their satisfaction level in USA.
  • Closely monitor state-of-the-art in laparoscopic and robotic surgery usage, identify emerging technologies, and maintain sharp knowledge of competitive technologies and therapies in USA.
  • Maintain close collaboration with field teams and training teams in USA.
  • Perform targeted literature and field research based on emerging needs (e.g. identify a new surgical instrument technology opportunity).
  • Ensure the vision is well adopted & followed in the different collaborative departments in Distalmotion (R&D, Marketing &Training).
  • Communicate knowledge acquired to R&D for user requirement as well as marketing and training regarding their own activities.
  • Work with the R&D team and customers to develop & test new prototypes.
  • Design & run validation, design exploration and usability studies (formative & summative) in collaboration with the R&D and EU Product Team.
  • Maintain and develop documentation on product management and usability in collaboration with the R&D and EU Product Team.
  • Ensure compliant processes following the standards of Distalmotion’s quality management system.

Work Experience and Education requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in medical device development with scientific, clinical or engineering roles.
  • Background in Medtech environment, laparoscopy and/or robotic is a plus.
  • Fluent in English. Other European languages a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required:

  • Outstanding analytical skills coupled with creativity and out-of-the box thinking is a must.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Willing & able to travel.
