IT Concepts, Inc. (ITC) is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support our VA-ESOM- End Point Support and Operations Monitoring contract across the United States.
A Technical Writer must have experience in explaining highly technical data and information in simplistic grade school language for end users of complex IT systems and projects. Must be able to use a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and scheduling tools. Must have experience in being able to gather and convert data into a written narrative. Reporting to the Project/Program Manager, you will be responsible for creating technical documents and manuals, explaining complex information in a clear and concise manner, and engaging with stakeholders across the VA. Candidate should be comfortable in a rapidly changing environment with competing and shifting priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical writing support to include creating, editing, standardizing and error-free, publishable content.
- Develop templates, reports, charts, tables, and presentations using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Use Microsoft Visio to create complex workflow diagrams and process models, as well as lead process owners in developing documentation for OIT work products and maintain SharePoint workflow processes integrated with Microsoft Outlook.
- Provide support with meeting facilitation, note-taking, ensuring Section 508 compliance, and developing reports using PowerBI.
- Analyze IT business and information processes to identify risks and opportunities for increased efficiencies and provide recommendations to improve OIT business processes.
- Prepare various business agreements such as SLAs, rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimates, and records maintenance.
- Monitor agreements, research variances, and document revised projections with customers, vendors, and peer organizations.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding business-related matters, gather data for annual business planning, and provide timely updates on the status of assigned tasks.
- Work on special projects related to business process efforts, gap analyses, feasibility studies, and trade-off analyses.
- Prepare business cases for IT solutions, present findings and recommendations to various audiences, and use the standard OIT change management system for managing assignments and work products.
- Prepare an Annual Documentation and Process Improvement Report on communications effectiveness, business process optimizations, and documentation updates.
Location: Reside in the United States, and work Core hours 9-5pm Local.
Requirements
- Associates or 2 years of Technical School - in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline
- 2+ years of relevant Experience
- 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
- Has excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and the project manager to determine delivery of the customer’s priorities
- Ability to synthesize and analyze data, across different functions, multiple systems, internal and external sources
- Advanced understanding of MS project, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, SharePoint
Clearance requirement
- US Citizen or Green card holder
- Willing and able to get a Public Trust Suitability clearance
