The Field Service Technician is responsible for servicing customized mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. This role is critical to ensure system startup, field installation and any troubleshooting is completed in a timely and professional manner.
Job Location & Travel Requirements: We have a strong preference for the home base of the employee to Texas (TX), Louisiana (LA), Oklahoma (OK), Washington (WA), or Oregon (OR). This position requires approximately 65-80% travel to manage projects in the field. Travel destinations may vary but will primarily focus on domestic travel within the US.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Assemble, test, and service hydraulic, electrohydraulic and fully electric systems and movable structures.
- Communicate with customers during installation, start-up and maintenance of projects.
- Work in cooperation with engineers, sales and leadership to ensure customer needs are addressed and projects stay on schedule.
- Maintain records as required (field service reports, assembly routers, quality, dimensional checks, testing, etc.).
- Fabricate and install high pressure tubing using standard fittings.
- Monitor the functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards/problems and the potential need for adjustments, repairs, or replacement.
- Support and participate in the organization’s continual improvement program to conform to ISO 9001 and understand the implications of not complying with the quality management system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Training:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent secondary education.
- Journeyman skilled craft training/apprenticeship certificate or combination of technical education and experience preferred.
- Two years of technical trade school preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of related hydraulic or electrical experience.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment a plus.
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
- Read and follow engineering drawings, bill of materials, and technical specifications.
- Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and service electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Disassemble machinery and repair or replace broken parts.
- Self-starter with excellent time management skills.
