What you'll do...

As Staff Writer, you will contribute to all areas of the site - from news to features to reference pages. You’ll cover a range of science topics, combining your writing experience with expert quotes and research papers, to create reliable, up-to-date content that appeals to anyone with an interest in the subject matter. In this remote role, you will report to the Editor in Chief and be edited by the Managing Editor.

• Write about 20 articles a month, with occasional feature stories throughout
• Upload articles to the CMS, finding appropriate images and related articles to link to
• Fact/source check all articles and ensure they fit Live Science’s house style
• Work with the Audience team to SEO improve content
• Interview and work with leading figures in science to make sure our features and news are informed by qualified experts

Experience that'll put you ahead of the curve...

• 2+ years of editorial writing experience with a journalism background
• Great knowledge of science topics, an ability to research and learn, and previous experience writing about the subject matter
• An appropriate qualification or degree in sciences
• A good list of contacts in the science industry is preferable, but not required
