Software Engineer, Full Stack

About Us

At Campus Ink, we’re building a merch platform for students and athletes. They learn sales & design skills while selling merch and making a commission. In order to facilitate & scale these programs, we are building powerful platforms that are user-friendly and optimize operations for our internal team. We are looking for a talented and experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team.

• Work closely with the CTO & leadership team to understand and solve the biggest pain points

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby on Rails code from feature ideation to deployment
• Bring UI/UX to life with Stimulus & Turbo
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Actively participate in sprint planning, task estimations, and reviews & apply the best software development practices
• Regularly push code to Git, perform code reviews, and quickly iterate on feedback
• Focus on scalability & performance

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Proven experience working with Ruby on Rails (built and developed apps being used in production)
• Understanding of databases (we use Postgres)
• Proficient with front-end technologies such as Stimulus, JQuery, and CSS
• Experience using Git for version control
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Shopify API
• Experience with agile development, particularly sprint-based workflows
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
• Knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Interested in keeping up with the latest changes in Rails
• Familiarity with other technology stacks
