Full Job Description
Job Summary:
As the Senior Technical Project Manager, you will play a critical role across Project Management and Project Delivery at REE. Serving as a multifaceted professional, you will be navigating the complexities of project management, technical solutions, product strategy, and Stakeholder Alignment ensuring project success. You will guide stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the execution of large scale projects, coordinating cross-organizational dependencies, and helping teams deliver and become more efficient. This role requires a deep understanding Project Management frameworks, effective communication skills rooted from strong coaching and leadership skills, and a deep passion and knowledge of technological innovations and market trends.
What is expected in this role:
- Leading large-scale, cross-organization technical projects, managing documentation, adjusting schedules, and maintaining strong relationships with internal customers and external vendors.
- This means collaborating with business leaders and other key stakeholders to gather technical requirements, provide updates, and manage expectations, including estimating and planning for single or multiple projects or work streams.
- This means you also partner with product and engineering teams to ensure the team is aligned with the project- and enterprise-level strategic priorities.
- This means you effectively communicate requirements to proper stakeholders within assigned projects, ensuring requirements are understood and aligned to meet internal customer and business needs. Meaning, you work with the team to clarify goals and deliverables and breaking down projects into component parts, identifying and tracking dependencies and opportunities for optimization; proactively identify problems and recommend solutions before they become blockers.
- Ultimately, this means you are managing internal customer and external vendor relationships, and communicating project goals, status, risks, and impact to teams through regular stakeholder meetings and ensuring continuous alignment. Which can include conflict resolution and addressing any raised concerns.
- Effectively executing software development iterations throughout the life of your assigned teams by managing activities, sequence, dependencies, work effort, duration, and associated resource requirements.
- This means you are partnering with the Director of Scrum to track user stories and correlate data to prepare weekly/monthly reports for management/business review. This can also include reporting out of KPIs and success metrics and conducting post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
- This means you are creating and refining processes when necessary; maintain focus on reliability and continual improvements, and automation and scaling.
- This means you are implementing best practices in project management, product development, and Salesforce utilization and encourage innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
How success is measured in this role:
- Stakeholder Acceptance: Project Managers ensure that the right business leaders are present, informed, and committed throughout project lifecycle. With PMO leadership, they set conditions for scheduled ‘approvals’ in keeping with our Agile processes.
- Shared Situational Awareness: Project goals, roadmaps, timelines, and success criteria are defined, documented, “dashboard-ed" as appropriate, available, and consistently communicated. Project managers facilitate and ensure consistent understanding of ‘next steps/current status/next steps between “IT” and “Business”.
- Project ‘Source of Truth’: Project Managers work to position themselves, through competencies and discovery, as the ‘first line’ resource for both business and technical requirements.
- Documentation: Projects are documented and communicated ‘at echelon’, ie Jira for the dev team, SmartSheet owned by PM, Executive ‘decks’ as needed, collaboration with Data team for dashboards as needed, etc.
Requirements
What you need in this role to be successful:
- You must have at least 5+ years of technical program/project management in a dynamic and technical environment and a strong track record in managing complex cross-functional projects in a cloud/SaaS environment.
- This means you have technical competence over a wide range of technologies with emphasis on ‘business process’ enablers.
- This means you have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex business needs and design efficient plans for projects and implementation.
- This also means you have strong experience with documentation of business requirements, assessment of inefficiencies, and efforts to increase adoption and customer satisfaction.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies, including using tools like JIRA for tracking and managing technical projects.
- This means you have experience coordinating iterative, incremental delivery of technical projects in an Agile environment with multiple Scrum teams and hands-on, day-to-day experience with leading development teams through Agile transformations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, slack, salesforce, and other technologies used to support everyday function in this role.
- Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving abilities, capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with an eye for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, facilitating effective collaboration across various departments and levels of the organization with the ability to translate technical information to non-technical and vice versa.
- This includes the ability to navigate difficult interpersonal conversations and utilize multiple platforms for communication within departments and teams.
- This also includes the ability to delegate and mentor more junior team members.
- This also include having a track record of presenting data and project information to senior leadership.
- Experience working in a remote environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of VA disability ratings and claims preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience in start-up or early-stage environments with little or no defined infrastructure or processes.
