Job Purpose/Background:
Greenbacker Capital has depended on modern cloud technology platforms to meet the needs of our complex and growing business. There are numerous internal and external requirements including regulatory compliance that these systems help us meet. This role works with our internal and external stakeholders to deliver technology solutions and services required for successfully meeting our strategic needs.
The company is seeking to hire a full-time, experienced Systems Developer with both depth and breadth of experience in roles such as Solutions Architect, Full-stack Developer, Software Engineer, Business Intelligence (BI) Developer, ETL Developer, Database Developer, DevOps Engineer or similar. This is a challenging role who will wear many hats and work with a team to develop solutions to help us achieve our strategic business goals. This role will report to the VP of Technology and will work closely with the Technology team, third parties and business partners.
Location: Remote
(NOTE: Must work East Coast hours when remote)
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary systems developer for all technical systems/software development needs
• Must be a team player and work with a diverse group of people
• Automate complex processes
• Automate manual processes
• Implement systems integrations
• Evolve, architect, design and implement Big Data management and analytics solutions
• Azure Synapse (Azure SQL Data warehouse, Pipelines, Notebooks)
• Lakehouse (ADLS Gen 2)
• Develop AI/ML capabilities to improve business agility and decisioning
• Application development
• Utilize Retool, Logic App, Azure App Service or any required tools as needed to create new innovative solutions to address business needs
• Refine and evolve the current DevOps process using the existing Azure DevOps platform
• Automate everything that can be automated (CI/CD)
• Implement continuous integration, testing, delivery & deployment
• Create standards for documentation, testing, source control and other fundamental procedures
• Work with the team to manage Azure Cloud Infrastructure/platforms/services and security
• Learn, grow and do things you have never done before
Education and Experience:
Must have:
• Bachelor’s degree in technology-related focus or equivalent experience/certification
• 10+ years of experience working as a systems/software developer
• 5+ years in a technology role in a company with 100 or more employees.
• 3+ years in the Big Data and Analytics space
• Experience with Azure services such as Azure Synapse (Spark, Databricks, Function, SQL Pool), Logic Apps, APIM, ADLS, etc. is a must
• Expert experience in MS SQL Server and/or Azure SQL (Microsoft T-SQL) is required
• Expert experience in coding in Python, C# and other languages (Object-Oriented Programming)
• Experience with DevOps practices is required
• Developing and/or consuming HTTP APIs, especially REST/JSON is required
• Azure API Management / Postman / Swagger
Desirable:
• Experience with Salesforce, Oracle ERP/EPM
• Data Science experience (AI/ML)
• Understanding of Microsoft Power BI (Data Modelling and Report creation)
• Experience with IoT (Azure IoT Hub / Events Hub) is a plus
• Experience with SCADA/DAS/PI/UNIX and other Energy specific technologies is a plus
• Understanding of Renewable Industry, Utilities, Energy Sector, Accounting, Finance, etc.
Technical Skills:
• Architecting, developing and managing cloud based automation and data solutions (Azure)
• Programming/Scripting Languages: Python, C#, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.
• Unstructured/Semi-structured Datasets: JSON, Parquet, Delimited, BLOB, etc.
• Database: SQL (T-SQL)
• API (REST/GraphQL)
• Ability to write good documentation
• DevOps: Azure DevOps/Git
