Senior Software Engineer

UKI is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our integration and support team. This role involves providing efficient and effective software development and support solutions for complex container based micro-applications.

The ideal candidate must have a deep understanding of front-end technologies (Angular/React), backend technologies (Node.js), and extensive experience with building and supporting RESTful APIs and K8 orchestration in AWS.

Candidates should be adept at developing, delivering and supporting customers using the full force of their aforementioned competencies, within the unique constraints of shipping AWS developed micro-applications to air-gapped (non-internet connected) systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance applications using Angular, React, and Node.js to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
• Design, implement, and fully support high quality RESTful APIs ensuring application functionality and integration with other services and systems.
• Rapidly troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues involving application performance, network configurations, and cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to advocate for best practices in cloud deployment and microservices architecture.
• Take a "solutions first" approach to every situation by providing sound technical issue-resolution options (always more that one) to applicable development teams within the design principles of UKI's architecture.
• Document technical processes, solutions, and support guidelines for internal and external use.
• Mentor junior developers and support staff, enhancing the team's overall technical capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on Angular, React, and Node.js.
• 5+ years of experience in managing and building, deploying, orchestrating and supporting applications in AWS.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs across multiple integration targets.
• Thorough understanding and application of sound network engineering principles in cloud and on-premise environments.
• Extensive understanding of first, second, and third order effects of software development and troubleshooting efforts.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a capability to lead technical discussions and mentorship.
• 7+ years experience with increasing responsibility in technical customer support roles.
