Full Job Description
Global Life Science Hub is proud to partner with a cutting-edge biotech company dedicated to revolutionizing cancer treatment through innovative gene therapy modalities. Leveraging advanced technologies such as predictive analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to identify highly expressed genes.
Following huge success in the enrolment of their first phase I study, their stock is reflected in their continued success and is currently trading at a staggering 200% this year leading to the appointment of a new Senior Scientist and will play a critical role in the development and assessment of gene therapy modalities with a primary focus on T-cell therapy.
Position: Senior Scientist
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, execution, and optimization of gene therapy approaches targeting inflammatory diseases, with a strong emphasis on bridging research and process development in the MSAT domain.
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and stay abreast of the latest advancements in gene therapy and immunology to inform experimental design and strategy.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify and validate novel therapeutic targets for gene therapy interventions.
- Design and implement robust experimental protocols to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and mechanism of action of gene therapy candidates in preclinical models.
- Utilize a wide range of molecular biology techniques to manipulate and analyze gene expression, including gene knockdown/knockout, lentiviral transduction, and other gene modulation methods.
- Perform in vitro assays to assess immune cell function, including cytokine profiling, proliferation assays, and cytotoxicity assays, to evaluate the immunomodulatory effects of gene therapy interventions.
- Develop and characterize relevant mouse models of inflammatory diseases to recapitulate key aspects of human pathology and evaluate therapeutic responses.
- Conduct in vivo efficacy studies to assess the impact of gene therapy interventions on disease progression, including monitoring tumor growth, metastasis, and overall survival.
- Utilize advanced imaging modalities, such as bioluminescence and fluorescence imaging, to track the biodistribution and pharmacokinetics of gene therapy vectors in vivo.
- Employ state-of-the-art molecular biology techniques to analyze gene expression patterns in vivo, including qRT-PCR, RNA sequencing, and single-cell RNA sequencing, to identify molecular signatures associated with therapeutic response.
- Collaborate with bioinformatics teams to analyze and interpret complex gene expression data sets and identify potential biomarkers predictive of treatment efficacy and patient outcomes.
- Generate and validate genetically engineered mouse models to study the functional significance of candidate genes and pathways identified through transcriptomic analysis.
Experience/Qualifications:
- PhD or MD in a relevant field (e.g., Molecular Biology, Immunology, Genetics) with a minimum of 2 years of post-doctoral experience.
- Proven track record of research excellence in gene therapy development, preferably in the context of inflammatory diseases or cancer.
- Proficiency in standard tumor immunology techniques including DNA and RNA analysis, T cell cloning, TCR analysis, Elispot, Elisa, and T cell CAR therapy.
- Experience with mouse models of disease and in vivo gene expression analysis is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
