Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Proposal Writer/Manager to lead our proposal development efforts for AI-driven transportation safety solutions targeting local municipalities. This role combines technical expertise with narrative storytelling to create compelling proposals that demonstrate our product's value in enhancing public safety through artificial intelligence.

Primary Responsibilities

Proposal Development and Management

  • Lead end-to-end proposal development process, from capture planning to final submission for municipal government contracts
  • Orchestrate cross-functional proposal teams, including subject matter experts, technical writers, and graphics designers
  • Establish and maintain proposal schedules, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met
  • Develop winning strategies and discriminators that highlight our AI technology's unique value proposition

Technical Writing

  • Transform complex technical specifications and AI capabilities into clear, accessible content for municipal decision-makers
  • Create detailed technical responses addressing system architecture, data security, integration requirements, and compliance standards
  • Document technical implementation plans, including deployment methodology and timeline
  • Develop comprehensive responses to technical evaluation criteria

Narrative Development

  • Craft compelling narratives that demonstrate our solution's impact on transportation safety and public welfare
  • Write executive summaries that effectively communicate value proposition to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Develop past performance narratives that showcase successful implementations
  • Create persuasive content highlighting cost-benefit analysis and return on investment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of proposal writing experience, with at least 3 years focusing on government contracts
  • Demonstrated success in winning municipal or government contracts
  • Strong understanding of government procurement processes and requirements
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to lead multiple proposals simultaneously
  • Superior writing and editing skills with meticulous attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI, machine learning, or transportation technology proposals
  • Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and municipal procurement processes
  • Certification in proposal management (APMP or similar)
  • Experience with proposal management software
  • Background in technical writing for software or technology products
