We’re seeking a Senior Project Manager—a dynamic, results-driven leader who will take command, drive strategic project direction, and be fully accountable for delivering client success.

You will play a pivotal leadership role, ensuring the successful execution of high-stakes, complex projects, while providing strong mentorship and guidance to project teams.

As the face of the agency in client interactions, you will present work, track progress, and uphold strategies, ensuring goals are met. You’ll navigate challenges with a positive outlook, identifying opportunities amid risks. Your leadership will ensure day-to-day work is organized, managed, and clearly communicated, while adhering to Phase2’s processes and standards.

Salary Band: $115,600 - $161,800

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership Across Teams and Accounts: Lead large, multi-disciplinary teams across multiple, high-profile accounts, ensuring collaboration, innovation, and client satisfaction across projects.
  • Strategic Client Partnership: Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to clients, contributing to long-term business growth through exceptional delivery and proactive engagement. Identify opportunities for upselling and expanding the client relationship.  Act as an advocate for client outcomes by managing relationships, expectations, scope, timeline, and budget, ensuring high client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Program-Level Oversight: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring resource allocation, prioritization, and execution across programs are aligned with both client and Phase2’s objectives.
  • Project Accountability: Take full ownership of project success, managing both internal team performance and client outcomes to meet agreed-upon goals. Proactively mitigate risks and seize opportunities to ensure projects deliver expected results and value.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Lead and mentor internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment, high performance, and effective communication.
  • Advanced Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate complex risks across projects and programs. Use data-driven insights to develop robust contingency plans and address project challenges proactively.
  • Strategic Financial Management: Ensure financial success by managing complex budgets and driving profitability for large accounts. Regularly assess financial performance and adjust project strategies as needed.
  • Process Improvement and Innovation: Drive operational excellence by refining project management processes and frameworks, contributing to the agency’s growth and continuous improvement. Identify and implement innovative approaches to elevate project delivery.
  • Client Executive Engagement: Collaborate with executive-level stakeholders at both Phase2 and client organizations to align project outcomes with broader business goals and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Mentorship and Team Development: Mentor and guide team members to enhance their skills and ensure strong team cohesion and performance across all projects.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure that all projects adhere to best practices in staffing, contracts, and reporting, driving operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project and Product Management Certification: PMP, CDPM, Agile, Scrum Master/Product Owner or other relevant certifications demonstrating expertise in managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects and digital products. Advanced expertise in project and program management methodologies, with certifications such as PgMP, SAFe, or Advanced ScrumMaster being highly desirable.
  • Experience Managing Multiple Projects and/or Programs: Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale, multi-disciplinary programs in a digital agency environment. 
  • Client Management: Extensive experience in building strong client relationships, managing expectations around scope, timeline, and budget, and advocating for client success. Proven success in managing executive relationships and presenting to C-suite stakeholders.
  • Team Management: Exceptional leadership and mentorship skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Strong ability to lead client communications, present in-progress work, and provide clear project updates to internal teams and clients.
  • Digital Expertise: In-depth knowledge of digital platforms (DXP, CMS, DAM, CRM, e-commerce), web development processes, business systems, digital product lifecycle management, marketing automation, analytics, AI, and emerging technologies.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Financial and Budget Management: Proven experience managing project budgets, tracking financial performance, and meeting margin expectations without compromising quality.
  • Risk Management: Ability to proactively identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues efficiently to ensure project success.
  • Operational Excellence: History of executing operational processes (staffing, invoicing, contracts) with precision, contributing to project efficiency and success. Experience driving operational efficiency and contributing to the strategic development of project management processes.
  • Strategic Decision-making: Experience in resource allocation, project estimation, project prioritization, and decision-making to achieve both client and Phase2 goals.
  • Proficiency in Project Management Tools: Expertise in tools like Jira, Monday, FinancialForce, Salesforce, Microsoft Project, or other project management solutions for monitoring timelines, dependencies, risks, and progress.
  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in a digital agency environment, preferably working with enterprise clients in industries such as healthcare.
  • Quality Assurance (QA) Management: Expertise in establishing and leading comprehensive QA processes to ensure digital products meet or exceed quality standards. Proven ability to integrate QA planning into project timelines, facilitate cross-functional collaboration to identify and resolve issues, and maintain high-quality deliverables across multiple projects.
  • Travel (10% - 15%) as needed to cultivate relationships, engage and lead onsite project execution activities.

  • Performance Management evaluation history indicating strong performance and exceeding expectations of current role;
  • Consistent demonstration of successfully executing the minimum qualifications of the next level
  • Endorsement from senior leadership and peers

The typical advancement path is to PMO leadership. 

Environment

Physical Demands

  • Frequently remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  • Occasional adjusting or moving of light objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
  • Continuous communication on live video chats, calls, and through emails and messaging platforms for the purpose of exchanging information.
  • Continuous repetitive movements that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Travel (approx. 10% - 15%) when required.
