Full Job Description

KickUp is looking for a Senior Product Manager to help us reimagine how school districts grow their most valuable asset: their people.

KickUp is on a mission to help every educator thrive throughout their career. Our platform helps educational leaders capture data about teacher growth and use it to drive better outcomes for students. We’re a growing team building a product used by tens of thousands of educators.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our product, from conceptualizing new features to reimagining existing ones. You will lead a cross-functional team, working closely with counterparts on Design, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales to devise and continually develop features that make KickUp more valuable to our customers and deepen our impact on improving the educator experience.

Why you should join KickUp

  • Impactful Work: Our product is a robust, data-rich professional growth platform. We are proud to maintain an exceptional customer NPS above 80 and are establishing ourselves as an emerging leader in the K12 professional growth software market. You will have the opportunity to lead product development on features that help school leaders better support their teachers while enhancing our product performance as our user base rapidly scales.
  • Growth Opportunities: We’ve proven product-market fit and still have significant growth ahead. Joining at this stage offers substantial opportunities for professional growth and a meaningful impact.
  • Collaborative Team: Our team is humble, sharp, and user-focused with a unique blend of mission-driven and business-smart qualities. We care about the work and are committed to each others’ success.
  • Remote Flexibility: We are a remote-first organization with high flexibility. We offer an extended holiday break, summer Fridays, and “Focus Fridays” – a day with limited Slack and meetings throughout the year. On a semi-annual basis, we gather for team on-sites.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Set and execute the vision for your product. You will drive product vision, strategy, and roadmap efforts that align with broader company goals.
  • Serve as a product leader and owner. You’ll act as the point person for your product area to leadership and across the organization. Own one or more products with adjacencies, identify opportunities via qualitative and quantitative research, and build solutions to maximize customer outcomes.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration. You’ll lead product planning, product & customer discovery, the product development process, effort estimation, and working closely with cross-functional teams (Design, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales).
  • Get company-wide visibility. Publish company-wide updates, ensuring that requirements, release notes, and other artifacts are documented. Be the lead evangelist for your product, ensuring company-wide buy-in and alignment.
  • Shape our product culture. As a small but growing company, you’ll have the opportunity to heavily influence best practices, norms, and processes as we scale the product team.
  • Be a mentor to your peers. Provide thoughtful feedback and guidance to help grow other product team leads.

About You

Our ideal fit has:

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience.
  • Experience developing data analytics or data platform products for B2B.
  • Experience leading large product initiatives involving several adjacent products.
  • Proficiency in Agile processes and iterative product development.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional peers.
  • Ownership mentality with a proactive approach to identifying and filling gaps.
  • Strong stakeholder management and alignment skills.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard design tools and strong design thinking practices.
  • Continuous learner DNA, always hunting for ways to hone your craft — and proactively sharing out those learnings through mentoring.
  • Experience within K12 education and leveraging Heap are a plus but not required!

Position Details

  • This is a remote, full-time position that can be performed anywhere within the US.
  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • The base salary range for this position is $140k - $180k with growth potential.

Benefits

We are a remote-first company, and we offer a range of perks, including:

  • Stock options in our growing company
  • 401(K) plan with employer matching
  • Universal paid parental leave
  • A variety of medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • An annual stipend for professional learning
  • Flexible PTO policy, extended holiday break, summer Fridays, and “Focus Fridays”  – a day with limited Slack and meetings throughout the year

We are building products that help every educator thrive. To do so, we need a team that includes diverse perspectives and a shared willingness to challenge ourselves to improve every day. We recognize that underrepresented groups may be less likely to apply to a role if they don’t meet 100% of the listed qualifications. We encourage you to apply if you meet a majority of the qualifications and are passionate about our mission.
