Senior Product Designer

KickUp is looking for a Senior Product Designer to help us reimagine how school districts grow their most valuable asset: their people.

As a Senior Product Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platform. You will guide our design initiatives, creating user experiences that are intuitive, delightful, and impactful. Your contributions will span from conceptualizing fresh ideas to enhancing our existing features, as well as refining and evolving our design system. Your expertise in UXR, interaction design, and visual design will be key in leveling up our product experience. Working in close collaboration with our Product and Engineering teams, you’ll turn insights into beautiful, functional designs that enrich the experience for our users and increase the value KickUp brings to education professionals.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

• Lead our design efforts. You will be at the forefront of design at KickUp, setting a high standard for quality and achieving broad visibility and impact across the organization. You will own our design system, ensuring that it remains cohesive and evolves to meet the needs of the business. You will collaborate with Product to identify opportunities through qualitative and quantitative research, develop solutions iteratively, and ensure design consistency across the product.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. You will partner with Product and Engineering, as well as Customer Success and Sales, to bring the product vision to life. From conducting user research and usability testing to creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs, your work will directly shape the user experience.
• Inspire through vision. You will play a key role in bringing your team’s product vision to life by leveraging your expertise in user experience and our user personas. 
• Elevate design standards. You’ll continuously raise the bar, ensuring that KickUp’s interfaces and user experiences exceed expectations throughout the platform.
• Shape our design culture. As a small but growing company, you’ll have a unique opportunity to influence our best practices, processes, and norms, helping us scale both our product and our design team.
• Mentor and support your peers. Provide thoughtful feedback and guidance to help other design leads grow in their roles.
  

About You

Our ideal fit has:

• 5+ years of Product Design experience
• Experience designing B2B products, especially data analytics or data platform solutions
• Expertise in working with design systems and Figma
• A well-rounded skill set in visual UI design, information architecture, interaction design, and prototyping
• Experience with user research, usability testing, and designing user flows 
• Proficiency in Agile processes and iterative product development
• A proactive, ownership-driven mindset
• Exceptional storytelling and communication skills
• A comprehensive portfolio of product design case studies showcasing early concepts, user research, and design processes
• The ability to work autonomously and efficiently to deliver results
• Experience in education or familiarity with Heap is a plus, though not required

Position Details

• This is a remote, full-time position that can be performed anywhere within the US.
• Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
• The base salary range for this position is $135k - $175k, with growth potential.
